Missions:

• To serve as an independent centre for conducting studies on all socio-economic issues.
• To examine social plans and their outputs and to propose relevant recommendations accordingly.
• To cooperate with governmental institutions and private agencies in conducting necessary studies for the public good.
• To create economic visions for the short, mid and long term economic policy planning and to avail such visions to decision makers.
• To cooperate toward the achievement of the Forum's goals with donors and local, regional and international development agencies, civil society organizations, the business sector, governmental agencies and education sector.
• To encourage the youth being the main driving force of the forum, in fully interacting with directions and advice of expert members.
• To guarantee transparency and constructive action away from disharmony with keen emphasis on maintaining and objective and a scientific course of action.

Suggested Role for the Forum:

• The forum is an independent, private sector, economic body that sets up recommendations on governmental socio-economic trends.
• The forum follows up with the government’s implementation of economic strategies, policies and actions and assesses their outcomes.
• The forum examines contingent economic developments and submits recommendations on how to address them in line with the national economic strategy.
• The forum engages and involves researchers, academics and the youth in studying economic conditions and in playing a vital role in presenting recommendations, by engaging students of economics of economics as part of their academic work on matters involving targeted sectors.


Objectives of the Forum:

• Prepare reports to support Jordanian economic policies for the public and private sectors.
• Render economic consultation services related to conducting specialized research and offer economic advice and insight for the public and private sectors.
• Muster efforts of economic experts including former and current decision makers in the public and private sectors and academics to serve the goals of the forum on the basis of interdisciplinary approaches to specific economic issues.
• Assess costs and benefits; conduct economic impact studies and provide for public policy analyses of matters related, among other things, to taxation and governmental program funding; advise on developmental strategies and financial and monetary management; provide industry analyses; and assess economic competitiveness and review the public sector’s performance.
• Create economic visions on the short, mid and long term, and propose them to decision makers.
• Cooperate with donors and local, regional and international development agencies, civil society organizations, the business sector, governmental agencies and education sector.
• Involve the youth as a main driving force and as effective producers.

Forum's Membership:

• Membership to the Forum is open to experts and prominent figures in the public and private sectors with the aim of promoting high quality economic dialogue; raising awareness on economic issues; securing the highest possible level of economic analysis and supporting economic policies in Jordan and in the Arab World.
• All members are entitled to receiving forum's publications and reports; they join business meetings twice a year to discuss the biannual report and to discuss its content with the economic decision makers in the public and private sectors.
• The forum provides specialized periodicals on current economic issues and gives the priority of publication in such periodicals to consultative research and services provided on applied economic issues for the public and private sectors.
• The term of membership is for one fiscal year, starting with the first of January and ending on the thirty first of December of every year.
• There will be a membership fee which will be nominal as defined by the Forum's General Assembly.
